EDITORIAL:         There Will Be No Recovery

The ultimate number of pandemic infections has not been affected by the economic paralysis imposed by governments; it has only been extended over a longer time. That has reduced the average daily patient load at medical facilities at the expense of non-pandemic patients denied access by the shutdown. It has also been at the expense of everyone involved in the general economy since it is evident that the post-pandemic level of economic activity will be substantially reduced from that which prevailed before. Whether this is the doing of politicians trying to hide their economic swindles behind the virus is becoming interesting for conspiracy theorists.

There was no recovery from the financial collapse of 2008; instead, the gross financial distortions that brought the collapse were papered over by a flood of money printing bailouts. Since then, debt and credit excesses have proliferated, topped by the recent pandemic related helicopter money for everyone. That is about to be repeated in the hope of buying off voter understanding until after the November election. This will be the final act in the recent decades of politico-economic swindles; regardless of the next U.S. President’s identity, the voters will discover that they have sowed the wind.

Good news overview again. Particularly good article on Pandemic. Govt wholesale propagandising fear has serious implications over and above pushing psychologically vulnerable people over the edge. Sweden remains sane.
Govts know that when youth unemployment stats hit 40 percent riots follow. We were given much more than that through the device of closing schools and forcing youth to simmer under house arrest. So, we have govts deliberately generating widespread fear and hysteria combined with creating the specific conditions likely to cause riots. I think I read something like this in history books.
The elderly, ill and frail are disproportionately carried off by viruses. Who knew.

And that is certainly so … Plus, plausible cover accumulated and now arriving economic depression as well?

It seems the only thing you can rely on the political class to do is feather their own nest while they trash everything they touch.

Seems likely accurate … Put another way, they tend to exhibit normal human behavior, magnified by political power. Most of them probably love their kids. Old what’s his face was on target: “Power corrupts …”  Give one a job in a bakery or an office and I’d bet you couldn’t distinguish one from the neighbors.
