Mrs. Clinton’s Famouys E-Malis Are Smoke

Hillary Clinton1Mrs. Clinton, Secretary of State, was required to use a no doubt bureaucratic, laborious and doubtless far from private internet address, just as most other government functionaries. She said later that she had set up a private e-mail address simply to keep family and such personal stuff from clogging government communications. Somewhere, if one searches long enough, there is probably someone who believes that. Maybe two …

Mrs. Big Shot is much too important to feel constrained by such small time bureaucratic pettiness, or so we suppose. We also suppose that numbers of the mighty feel similarly; we doubt that Mrs. Clinton is the first to feel that the rules do not apply to her. And we do not doubt that following the rules is a pain.

If the folks in charge of prosecuting are to seriously attack Mrs. Clinton, they will, if we are correct, be forced to account in some fashion for all the others ding likewise. Probably including some of them. We inquire: How likely is that?

Past Prez Bill Clinton just sat down with Attorney General Loretta Lynch to discuss – what? The meeting alone contaminates the entire Clinton e-mail investigation, does it not? A very public flipping of The Bird by the Clintons and AG Lynch together. The rules are made for us, not for them.

It is a joke, a distraction from more serious Clinton problems. It is possible because the so-called opposition, the GOP, plays dead for this show just as it does for the Benghazi scandal that left an U.S. Ambassador tortured to death under circumstances damn well kept mysterious.

It’s just the way things go down in Washington, D.C. these days.

And we continue to elect the performers …
