GLEANINGS FROM THE PASSING SCENE … (Politically Uncorrected)

Here’s your fallout from the expiring week:

A new multiple sclerosis treatment seems to provide hope

A teen student was arrested after blowing cigar smoke into a teacher’s face. (Arrested?)

The ISIS air war costs the U.S. about $11 M daily. (It’s ok, our grandchildren will pay.)

Academy Awards host Chris Rock is pressed to resign the gig because no blacks are nominated for an Oscar. (Affirmative Action for Oscars?) A critic said: “Sorry, black actors just weren’t good enough this year.” (Honesty being the worst policy, right?)

The world faces massive debt default, per a veteran of central banking. (We believe him; like generals, bankers speak truth after retiring.)

The U.S. Ambassador to Israel accused it of discriminatory practices against Palestinians and was rebuked by a Congressman.

10% of college grads think that Judge Judy is a Supreme Court Justice.

Over a half million foreigners overstayed their U.S. visas last year.

A Former textbook executive revealed the anti-American agenda in Common Core.

A Chicago area high school held “Racial Identity Day” only to see it boycotted by droves of students. (Hmnn …)

A new car-sharing service by GM anticipates a future with none owning cars. (A government’s dream)

Canadian Pacific Railroad has issued a warning of decline. Likewise the Baltic Dry Index, with a new, historic drop.  (Odd, in a recovery, right?) Everything is slowing.

The Obamafolk reduced restraints on U.S. visa holders with ties to Iran. (Trust …)

A good Samaritan was shot to death after stopping to help a snowbound driver. (No good deed goes unpunished?)

Hollywood’s film Academy changed its rules to promote minority nominations. Olympic rules are changed too; pre-op male transsexuals may now enter women’s events.  (Will the feminists dare complain?)

Venezuela: Congress refused President Maduro’s request for emergency powers. (So no rule by decree?) Inflation hit 700%.  (Socialism in action, unnoticed by Bernie Sanders.)

V.P. Joe Biden said that the U.S. is prepared to use military force in Syria. (On top of: Russia, Iran, Hezbollah, ISIS, various other Islamic rebels and what’s left of the Syrian government. (What could possibly go wrong?)

Unrestricted war powers for the President are pushed by GOP Senate boss Mitch McConnell. With no time limit.  (Why not just provide a crown and scepter?)

Oil, War and Drastic Global Change  (The oil price fall reflects demand, not just Saudi policy.) Iran, its nuclear sanctions removed, is adding to the glutted oil market.

A man is not allowed sex until he has notified police. (Reality, in Britain.)

The assault on Bill Cosby lost a Pennsylvania case as a judge dismissed it.(We know not  Cosby’s behavior of 30 years ago but we have no doubt that very big bucks are being spent on the assault.)

A Texas man was sentenced to life in prison for his tenth DWI.

Sundance Film Festival: Daniel Radcliffe’s farting corpse movie prompted walk outs.  (Keeping stands high in Hollywood?)

And that deadly gas attack ends the week …

About Jack Curtis

Suspicious of government, doubtful of economics, fond of figure skating (but the off-ice part, not so much) Couple of degrees in government, a few medals in figure skating; just reading and suspicion for economics ...
