Republicans sputtered when Nancy Pelosi said just that of Obamcarfe; now we hear the same arrogance from a Republican on Obamatrade. It is becoming difficult to distinguish between donkey and elephant egos. The one thing that seems increasingly clear: Neither party any longer represents ordinary Americans. That is an opinion of course; feel free to disagree. With chapter and verse, hopefully. It is a conclusion concerning which it will be pleasant to be wrong.
At the moment though, we feel that if someone in Silicon Valley could push a button that would transform everything inside the Washington Beltway into virtual reality overnight, that would constitute a signal service to thee country.
But there are those for whom Washington, D.C. is virtual reality already. Would that it were so …
Glad you mentioned ordinary Americans. I don’t know who was first to declare classes, Elvis or communists. One commenter I read likes to declare not middle class, but middle income Americans in peril. He caught a rabbit and is a friend of mine. 🙂
Seems that, soon as you have shared dependency, you have made a dependent class. Once that exist, you automatically have an upper class upon which they may depend.
