Gleanings From The Passing Scene…(Politically Uncorrected)

Alfred_E__NeumannYour newstray of current canape’s for your selection; enjoy, curse or ignore as you see fit. Do though, do so with some thought; these are signposts pointing to today’s reality.

Germany  is being criticized increasingly by the U.S. Treasury for various financial policies that the American administration doesn’t agree with. It’s notable that the failing E.U. economies of Portugal, spain, Italy and France don’t agree with them either. It’s even more notable that Germany’s economy is the strongest in Europe, largely (in our opinion) from refusing to print funny money to maintain deficits to the extent the others and the U.S. want it to do.

A new book: “White Girls Bleed A Lot” chronicles the regularly unreported–and growing–mob violence by U.S. blacks in cities. Reminds of the legendary solution by Chinese villagers warned of an attacking dragon: “If we ignore it, maybe it will go away…”

We learned that the closing bill to taxpayers for the General Motors (union) bailout was $9.7 B. But the result was a success; GM is now selling more cars and trucks than ever before…in China.

A new cell phone attachment replaces the now old-fashioned ring tone by releasing a burst of fragrance… just what everyone of us needs. Smellophone, anyone?

We are told (We’re not sure we believe) that some 40% of babies nowadays are using smartphones or tablets before they can form complete sentences. Next, one supposes, they will be born with a little wi-Fi antenna replacing their belly buttons…

Georgetown University law school is offering a course promoting the Obamacare birth control/abortion mandate; mostly interesting in that Georgetown is a Catholic school. Or was, the last time anybody inquired…

Chicago: 2 dead, 12 wounded over last weekend in the most legally gun-controlled metropolis.

Seven states including California, are pursuing installation of little black boxes to provide taxing cars for miles driven, some are thinking of adding GPS location capability. The better to take care of motorists, of course…

At the State Department, Hillary has, we are told, succeeded…in sweeping sex scandals under the rug. It is becoming difficult, thee days, to imagine anything involving sex that our elites might consider scandalous…

Ten black teens attacked a white couple in Brooklyn.  No! Really?

Some folks are sweating a replay of the 1913 scene, when much invested capital ran for home in fear; present reports are apparently suggestive. “Who has ears to hear, let him hear…”

Among 23 advanced economies, U.S. adults were found to rank 21st in math. Public school grads, one supposes… but we’ll bet they came in high on self-esteem!

The CEO of Facebook was paid $2.2 B in 2012.

The head of the Nazi Gestapo, the secret police, we have learned recently, was buried in a Jewish cemetery in Berlin. We’re not sure how we should feel about that…

President Obama has issued an executive order to all of the Federal government, to prepare for global warming since Congress has not acted. He’s not only taking care of our health, he’s saving us from the climate, too!

The Mayor of Toronto reportedly starred (unintentionally) in a video showing him smoking crack. That could explain a lot about city governments!

Hospitals are encountering shortages of important drugs so the FDA has promised to jump in and help. Very scary, especially, that last part…

Closing on a high note: Lady Gaga stripped naked again on stage; an indirect admission of her own evaluation of her singing. Or perhaps the premises were overheated. We consider this a valid evaluation of current popular ‘music, if barely.’
