Gleanings From The Passing Scene…(Politically Uncorrected)

What Me Worry ObamaIsrael is getting the business from its ‘friends’ in the E.U and the U.S. Both are pushing Israel to give up its territory, moving back to indefensible borders that existed before it was attacked by its neighbors. This, in favor of the Palestinians, who would then, the theory goes, make peace. The Palestinians have broken every agreement they’ve made with Israel and show no desire for peace, only for Israel’s destruction. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has pushed the same program, another coach happy to give your life for his team.  Meanwhile, Palestinians lob rockets into Israel. Maybe post WWII guilt over antisemitism is wearing off…

The Gallop polling organization has paid the government a $10.5 M fine for overstating government procurement costs. What a surprise! You always believe the results of published polls, right?

Recent repeal of the Smith-Mundt law has removed the block that has kept U.S. Government broadcasters like Voice of America offshore. With the domestic market now open to government radio and TV, will we now be subjected to a deluge of government propaganda as some fear? I dunno, but somebody must have wanted that law removed for some reason. Really, what’re a few more channels we don’t believe anyway, added to those we already have?

The E.U. is showing us the way again; Gender Quotas are coming before the European Parliament. Apparently they need a law to set the balance of men and women directors in corporate boardrooms. That sort of management recruiting will make those guys really ferocious competitors…

This men-women thing must be in the air; who governs best, men or women was the subject of another article. My wife thinks she governs me much better than I manage it, but no, she didn’t write the article. I understand the Dems are working toward a field test, setting up a direct comparison of Hillary to Obama, if they can get enough voters to agree. Maybe the country would benefit most if both were elected to that European Parliament?

Our troops are straggling out of Afghanistan, leaving it much as they found it, save the abandoned military equipment is now no longer Russian. We seem to be cluttering up the place with billions in military hardware (some of it dangerous) that is perfectly ok, just too much cost and bother to ship home. My mother never let me keep my room like that; she said that when I grew up, I’d have to stop being so wasteful…

A man awaiting the subway train couldn’t hold it anymore; he urinated onto the track, relieving himself while proving Darwin right. R.I.P.

Finally, in God’s great state of Alabama, a post office had to be evacuated at the perception of a leaking package…of KY “Intense Arousal” gel lubricant. Imagine how much safer everyone felt…

About Jack Curtis

Suspicious of government, doubtful of economics, fond of figure skating (but the off-ice part, not so much) Couple of degrees in government, a few medals in figure skating; just reading and suspicion for economics ...
