Remember the Obamafolk laughing at Sarah Palin’s comment on Obamacare “Death Panels?” If you remember, you must not have a job in the media. But if you do remember, you might put together two recent stories to make an interesting picture, which is why, I suppose, that nobody has done that.
We have rectified the big boys’ oversight for you right here so that the media failure won’t leave you deprived of entertainment to which you’re entitled, particularly if you voted for President Obama recently.
On the other hand, maybe you simply deny that these stories belong together. I will leave that to you to decide.
The first story: Hospices Reveal Obamacare Impact is about some hospices (those places where you go to die as painlessly as possible, right?) that have been caring for Medicare patients and are now going broke from the Medicare payment cuts imposed by Obamacare. They are being forced out of business. We’ll get to our suspicions about why in a moment.
The second story is about Assisted Suicide. The thrust of this one is the increasing numbers of states that are setting up the legal framework needed to provide this, uh, ‘service.’ This has been proceeding so quietly (not news, y’know) that the list surprised me.
So what do you get when you put the two together? Dunno, but what I get is, paying for whatever time it takes you to croak at your own speed in a hospice is pure expense compared to just knocking you off first thing you’re identified as either terminal or too expensive to cure. You can dump the entire hospice industry and save a bundle, right? And anyway, dead is dead; what’s not to like? Obamacare did promise to make American healthcare more efficient…
And everybody can continue laughing at Sarah Palin; the words: “Death Panel” are nowhere in sight.
So, we can now off nascent babies, here come the sick old folks and the Prez already blows up those he chooses. This is getting interesting… wonder who’s next? Won’t be murderers and such; we’re opposed to the death penalty, right?
