A French court has just sentenced a psychiatrist to a year in jail and 8,500 Euros damages for manslaughter because his patient of four years hacked an old man to death. The patient, while his doctor was being locked up, went free; he was nuts, right? Not responsible. Psychiatrist Sentenced will fill you in if you don’t believe.
Yeah, that’s France: They eat frogs and snails and who knows what they’ll do? Maybe best not be too dismissive; folks are blaming the Connecticut school shooter’s mom–he used her guns, didn’t he? Maybe he was considerate, offing her first. Makes one think on the meaning of responsibility.
“God helps those who help themselves” used to be heard a lot; responsible folk took care of themselves and theirs; those who expected others to provide what they needed were thought worthless and despised for that. Nowadays, we seem to be responsible for a lot of others assigned by the government but only some of us are responsible for ourselves. And even those can expect help in a lot of cases though you’d best be black, Latino, female or belong to a labor union. Well, and so long as we all pay our taxes and government can borrow against our credit.
Somebody smart once said that when you tax something, you get less of it; when you subsidize something, you get more of it. Duh, huh? So what’s going to come from massively increased food stamps, unemployment payments, housing allowances, disability payments, birth control, abortions, health care and all the rest we’re “entitled” to receive these days? Yeah, duh again. Add to that, you get the Democrats in charge so long as the borrowed and Fed-Toy money holds out. And that’s turning out to be the question, isn’t it…
For some reason, governments have all pretty much run out of money; they’re now running on ’empty’ and faking it so we don’t notice and get mad at them. For that, they’ve set up troop training, suspension of our rights and lots of FEMA camps to store us in. We’ve been divided into two classes in America: the provider class and the entitled class. The provider class is running out of gas, which will leave the entitled class high and dry. And since the politicians have played the two against each other, what’s likely to result when big chunks of the erstwhile providers have to join the entitled just as the goodies dry up? Ought to be interesting.
