The Hypocrisy of the Gun Controllers or, Using Dead Kids to Empower Government

Gun Control ActivistsThe howling hyenas of the Left have lurched into full spay over the Connecticut shootings of school kids and staff. They appear happy enough to write off Adam Lanza, the nutcase shooter so long as they can permanently put away his guns, along with everybody else’s. In gunless (excepting government) China, the man who just stabbed some 22 school kids and an old lady is in deep trouble; knives are not. Evidently the Chinese don’t get it, right?

Or perhaps our Leftys aren’t being entirely honest with us. They claim the U.S. is outstanding for both guns and violence and the violence is all the fault of the guns. I’ve not heard of any gun that was violent; all that I know of just lay in a drawer somewhere until a person picks it up for use. And some persons are violent and likely always will be. But guns aren’t. Nor knives, nor axes though all have been heavily applied to violence…by people. And they’re applied all over the world, not just in the U.S. Attacks on Schools will clue you in.

It was at least fifty years ago that government announced that loony bins (insame asylums) were too expensive and solved that by turning all the inmates out into the street. They’ve been there ever since, including the dangerous ones who remind us by killing people or bunches of people from time to time. We have responded by hoping they take their meds. That pleases mostly, mortuaries. Now we’ve had a couple of these incidents close together, centered on dead kids. The Left isn’t about to waste a crisis, especially when it’s almost made to order. They want a disarmed citizenry, like China. They’re not concerned with the dead kids but as shills for their shtick (guns) as is clear from their refusal to deal with leaving all the nutcases still out their to repeat the work. All they care about is guns, not kids. They want citizens helpless before government, as the Founders warned.

Adam Lanza was known to be nuts, both by his mother and his neighbors. His mother said she feared him. But what was she to do? The government that wishes to confiscate her guns left her with her unstable son and nowhere to go. And after all the guns are taken, the nutcases will remain, with access to axes and knives and garden sprayers like the one recently used to burn people with gasoline. Violence is done by people, not inanimate gadgets. The solution then, requires dealing with its perpetrators, not attacking their tools while leaving them unaddressed.

I’ll leave it with this question: We know that all the King’s horses and all the Kings’ men haven’t kept drugs away from kids and anyone else wanting them; the anti-gun forces know that too. So what do they really expect?

  1. I remember years ago when Chicago passed its handgun ordinance prohibiting their possession, people turned in their weapons and received a small payment for each from the City. Problem solved. However, if you look at the statistics of the number of incidents and deaths involving handguns in Chicago, the number is now higher per capita than after all the guns were turned in. Apparently, the gang members who held on to theirs or acquired new ones were either too illiterate to understand the meaning of the ordinance – or just didn’t care. I could go with both of those explanations.

From where I sit, the Left just uses whatever–dead kids, etc.–to cover its desire to disarm the citizens. No gun ever got up, went out and killed somebody, after all. A person did. So we need to deal with those persons, right? But the Left will not permit that in the debate. So it’s no debate, just the usual totalitarian propaganda and deceit.
