Obama Victorious, the Human Condition and Shakespeare

The election over, “The tumult and the shouting die; the captains and the kings depart…” and mundane taxpayers are left to clean up the erstwhile battlefield. Unfortunately, with whatever remains of their money rather than soap and water.

Now once more under Obama Victorious, what comes? Assuming our Prez follows the normal patterns of human thought, more of what preceded his reelection, of course. You don’t mess with a winning formula, right? And the Republican losers will look to replace their losing shtick for better results next time. They lost because Rush Limbaugh and the Teafolk abandoned their candidate unless it was because Romney veered too far right to please those folk. Anyway, the next time out must be more ‘centrist’ (i.e. liberal) and thus, pleasing to the young, Hispanic and female voters. Hmnnn…the way to win is to read the traditional Republicans out of the party and run diluted Democrats? Apparently so.

Back at the White House, the Obamacrats know that the zombiconomy staggers along on the floods of money looted from living taxpayers and their future offspring and that this ravening consumption of their own seed corn is terminal. They have now painted themselves into a corner from which there is no escape, only as much delay as they can manage. The Republicans in the House have cynically funded their excesses (while railing against them) and seem likely to continue, planning to inherit when the final collapse occurs. To act responsibly by refusing to authorize the spending will allow them to be painted as the cause of the coming collapse. So, they will condemn the spending while funding it just as they have been doing all along.

The deathwatch of the Great American Twinky will symbolize the new era as zombie unions finish off zombie industries while our vampire government sucks what economic blood remains via tax increases and regulations that price energy and productivity out of reach in the name of the environment. Such thinkers must rejoice at the weeds and grass returning to dying Detroit…a perennial symbol of the governmental salvation of America’s dying automakers.

The traditional Republican Teafolk face a decision: Will they sigh and holding their noses,  follow their leaders leftward? Will they find a means for replacing those well-established leaders? Or will they gird up their loins for the boobytrapped  battle that is the foundation of a third party? Pick one.

This parade of mindless ideologues, scalawags and opportunists will lurch along until, likely preceded by the E.U, it marches over the cliff’s edge into inarguable failure on a scale unseen  for eighty years. Europeans are already taking to the streets like Arabs in Greece and Spain where this is already happening, as if holding a nice riot will somehow provide the money that is no longer provided by the moribund economies.

Congress expects the same from its citizens and has already set by trained troops, prison camps and bulk burial places; all that remains is to see when the time comes, who will use them on American citizens and what will follow. They will be used; people forget that George Washington led some 13,000 Federal troops against recalcitrant citizens during his Presidency.

There will be much, as these circumstances develop, for churches to do but Obama Victorious, voted into office by Catholics and Jews, will redouble his attacks against them, limiting their scope and effectiveness. Like taxpayers, the religious may find few places to hide.

What is clear, is that there is a very good reason homo ‘sapiens’ is a species without a top predator…we prefer to do the work ourselves.

   “…but man, proud man,

Dress’d in a little, brief authority

Most ignorant of what he’s most assur’d–

His glassy essence–like an angry ape

Plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven

As make the angels weep…”

About Jack Curtis

Suspicious of government, doubtful of economics, fond of figure skating (but the off-ice part, not so much) Couple of degrees in government, a few medals in figure skating; just reading and suspicion for economics ...
