Being a Jew in a NIMBY World…

Israel’s Flag

The Jews have been troubling governments since ancient times, when they famously plagued Pharoh merely because he was reluctant to release them from slavery. They so annoyed the Romans by objecting to invasion and subjugation that the Roman Emperor had their government and its property destroyed and the people dispersed over the rest of the world, which has provided them NIMBY (Not In My Backyard) status ever since. That should have been their end, but the Chosen People remained Jews, acting as though they had been, well, chosen by God or something and not only survived into our time but thrived persecutions and after WWII, restored themselves (with some British and U.S. help) to part of their homeland, now modern Israel. But that was then; this is now. Europe is returning toward its historic anti-Semitism, Islamic anti-Jewish activity is resurgent and the American Left is increasingly anti Christians and Jews both. Nascent nuclear neighbor Iran trumpets Israel’s destruction, supported by the ‘Palestinians’ in Gaza and the West Bank while Europe, the U.S. and the U.N. cheer sotto-voce. An official of the U.N.’s Human Rights Commission just demanded a boycott of firms doing business with Israel. Meanwhile, back at the erstwhile Holy Land, the neighbors continue firing hundreds of missiles and mortar shells into Israel on a daily basis. European and American news sources think this is normal and appropriate, apparently; they don’t report it. Move on, folks, nothing to see here! In the U.S. where Jews have traditionally voted for Democrats, that party’s newly anti-religious and anti-Israel stance is proving problematical. Democrat’s Jewish Problem will explain. What seems clear is that the post WWII, widespread revulsion to the well-publicized Holocaust and the accompanying guilt have dissipated with the passing generations and the attitude toward Jews is returning to the pre-war status quo, amplified by a resurgence among restive Moslems. The West Bank and Gaza are maintained as essentially, concentration camps as are the still-existing ‘refugee’ camps in the deserts of surrounding Arab countries that refuse to take in the Palestinians who fled Israel. Tiny Israel would not accept the return of all these folks’ancestors for obvious reasons; their Arab kinfolk have kept them stranded ever since. Much is made of nonsensical arguments about who has the ‘right’ to the territory. The salient fact is that Israel was set up and approved after WWII under U.N. auspices and is perfectly legitimate, so far as such things go. And in the Middle East today, it’s about the only decent place to live by modern standards, another point distinguishing it from its surrounding attackers. It’s evident that the historical trend is throwing Israel under the Left-wing political bus. The country will have to increasingly, stand on its own and should therefore, reduce its obeisance to U.S. policy just as U.S. Jews have to decide between their Leftishness and their Jewishness. It would seem reasonable for an Israeli government to stop allowing its neighbors to dump missiles and shells onto its people in silence and with relatively token responses and instead, to announce that after some point, it would simply return fire into the area sending any missiles or shells, at a rate of, say, two for one. If the assaults continued, the rate would increase until the attacks stopped. Anyone want to bet they wouldn’t stop?

  1. God will protect them from total annihilation. They are after all, his chosen people. He permits punishment only because he is trying to get their attention… To repent.
Those who raise their hand against them will pay Gods price for hurting his children. Not good!

Yeah…every time things get too easy, we seem to imitate the old Jews actions when Moses was up the mountain. And today’s American Jews are hardly Jewish anymore as todays’ Christians are barely that too often. What’s coming will refine both at the cost of much pain and suffering, perhaps…as it has been in history. We’re slow learners!

Probably picture won’t show. But it’s biggest bull in Texas, not sheep.
A DEA officer, whose name is Bud Biddle, stopped at a ranch in Texas, and talked with an old rancher.
He told the rancher, “I need to inspect your ranch for illegally-grown drugs.”

The rancher said, “Okay, but don’t go in that field over there,” as he pointed out the location.

The DEA Officer Biddle (actually Delbert Westover Biddle of Montana) verbally exploded saying, “Mister, I have the authority of the Federal Government with me!”

Reaching into his rear pants pocket, Biddle removed his badge and proudly displayed it to the rancher.
“See this badge?! This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish… On any land!!
No questions asked or answers given!! Have I made myself clear…do you understand?!”

The rancher nodded politely, apologized, and went about his chores.
A short time later, the old rancher heard loud screams, looked up,
and saw the DEA Officer Biddle running for his life,
being chased by the rancher’s big Santa Gertrud’s bull… see below

With every step the bull was gaining ground on Biddle, and it seemed likely that he’d sure enough get gored before he reached safety. The officer was clearly terrified.
The rancher threw down his tools, ran to the fence and yelled at the top of his lungs…

    (I just love this part…)

“Your badge, show him your BADGE!!”

    God Bless America
